IF YOU SAY YES TO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS, YOU MAY BE AT HIGH RISK OF GETTING HIV

Have you injected drugs or other substances using shared needles?

Are you a man who has sex with other men?

Have you had vaginal or anal sex with a male partner who has had sex with another male partner?

Have you ever had vaginal or anal sex with someone who has HIV?

Have you had blood contact with someone who has HIV?

Have you been the victim of rape, date rape, or sexual abuse?

Have you had unprotected sex?

WHAT PUTS YOU AT HIGHER RISK FOR HIV?

  • Having unprotected (anal, oral, or vaginal) sex with someone who is HIV positive
  • Having unprotected (anal, oral, or vaginal) sex with multiple partners of unknown HIV statuses
  • Sharing needles and syringes used for injectable drugs
  • Men having unprotected (anal) sex with men are at highest risk of acquiring HIV

Sex is a normal, healthy part of life. It should be fun and pleasurable for you and your partner. But it can also be risky if you or your partner do certain things that could spread disease or cause physical or emotional harm. The risks add up based on your behaviors.

NOT AT RISK? YOU SHOULD STILL GET ROUTINE TESTING

Risk-based Testing Vs. Routine Testing

Risk-based testing is HIV testing for those who have a higher risk of getting HIV.

Routine Testing is HIV testing for anyone who wants to be tested for HIV.
